Whitmore has been on the teaching faculty of numerous schools across the country. He has also been invited as a guest teacher/lecturer at Universität Münster, Folkwang Universität der Künste, Stanford University, University of Alabama, Austin Paey State University Edinburgh Dance Festival, Dance Outreach, Cape Academy of Performing Arts, and the ZAMA Dance School in Cape Town, South Africa.
